US Open Halfpipe Louie Vito

Check out the US Open Halfpipe from Snowboarder.com. Congrats to Louie Vito getting a podium finish in 2nd place!! This guy is unstoppable. 3 Doubles and one amazing run. All 5 hits were clean and a bit more technical than Kazu's 1st place run. I-pods run was insane, but only 4 hits. Check it out, I vote for a recount.

U.S. Open Slopestyle

Mikkel Bang throwing it down to take 1st place in this years slope event at the US Open, and Utility Board Shops, Tyler Flanagan grabbing 7th in a competition consisting of nothing but heavyweights! Keep up the good work T-Flan, you are killing it!

Fine Tuned

Got my hands on a new 2011 Nitro T1 to try out ths weekend up in Mammoth. 156cm, zero or flat camber. Should be the best of both worlds. Edges were a little sharp, so I figure this was faster than using a file.

Looks like I am sleep de-tuning. Open your eyes dummy!
Nitro Snowboards 2010/2011 available at UBSSNOW.COM next year.

What's up Doc?

If you want to see my face getting stitched up, check it here.

I took the stitches out 5 days after, and I healed up with almost no scar. Big thanks to the Doc that stitched me up.

Straight Reppin'

Went shredding with local Southern California rep, Brad Bergenthal the other day. Crazy icy in the morning, and then turned to mashed potatoes pretty fast. We found a small window to get out there and throw it down.

Fridays at Bear from UBSSNOW.COM on Vimeo.

Good times up at Bear mountain, I am still sore and I didn't get too crazy. I think age is catching up to me...

Spotlight: Bataleon Snowboards

I got a chance to jump on a Bateleon snowboard this past weekend to see what all this triple base technology was all about. I rode the Evil Twin model. I didn't get a chance to de-tune the edges, so I just went for it. Surprisingly, it felt pretty catch free on boxes and rails. Really responsive and a super fun ride

Hip Hopulation

Check out Utility Board Shop riders Tyler Flanagan and Jared Dawoud up in the Mammoth park doing work.

Metal History

Black Death are an American band who have been noted as the "first all-African-American heavy metal band." The group were also mentioned in Ian Christe's book Sound of the Beast: The Complete Headbanging History of Heavy Metal, and metnioned Rock 'n' roll and the Cleveland connection by Deanna R. Adams as "one of the only, if not the only, all-black metal bands in the country" in 1987

The group formed in 1977 in Ohio and had a fan following in their local area. After several lineup changes and demos the group eventually released their self-titled debut in 1984.

Sooo Peaceful

ahhh a nice sunny afternoon up at Mt High. Got away from the park and checked out the views from the top of the hill. Rockin' a little "Heart of Gold," and keeping it mellow after a day in the office.
Now that I read this...sounds pretty lame. Next time its "Holy Diver," going nuts trying to snap my deck into pieces. Sunday at Bear it is on!

I came across some pretty sweet GW's. Maybe its like all the different quarters for each state. Not sure if these are the real deal, but I am going to keep collecting. haha
Maybe the middle top could be a $5 since he is rockin' Abe's hat...

Making History

Ingemar Backman was raising the bar since you were rockin' huggies. Way back in May of 1996, Ingemar earned over 10 covers with this HUGE backside air. It also became the opening shot in Mack Dawgs movie Stomping Grounds.

Getting Strapped

If your beanie keeps flying off from some serious SHREDDING, do like I do and get a super functional designer beanie strap. I am working on the final design, this is just a prototype. Don't steal my million dollar idea!

Cocktails and Dreams

If you are ever in Rosemead California. Go to a place called Bahooka Ribs and Grog. Crazy drinks they ligt on fire, and an ambiance that will make you feel like you are on a serious trip.

Monday Bloody Monday

So we figured we would hit some Mt Baldy in the AM and head to work around 1pm yesterday. We got to the parking lot and it seemed like it was rained out, but to our surprise the snow was really good up top. We hiked up to the Twilights for our 1st run and found some good stuff. We were headed back to the lift and I see a little tree tunnel to a fresh patch. I go blasting through the trees to get chin checked by a branch. I didn't think much of it until I put my glove up to my face to see if I was bleeding.
I ended up getting 6 stitches and the Doctor said it should heal with little to no scar. That means I will  be ready for the annual chin modeling expo 2010! Sweeeet Cheeks!

Video Recap and slides

Even though we are all just shop and office guys, we still had to bust out a little video so we could remember the fun we had up at the DC Mtn Lab. Thanks again to Doug and his crew. Great Times!
